Great News For Milo & Phoebe

Milo and Phoebe were adopted together and left on Friday from the Shelter.  They are gaining two feline siblings - ages 13 and 14 - and are living with an older couple.  We could not be happier how this worked out for them!

Moonlight was brought to the Shelter yesterday.  She is a three year old Siamese mix.  She was left on the sidewalk in front of the Shelter in a pink carrier.  She had severe skin issues...probably allergies - and was thin and hungry.  She looked terrible.  She does NOT like other cats!  She loves humans and loves attention but will NOT share space with another cat.  Make sure you do not let her out of her cage while the others are out and about.

Barb Allison is again organizing the float for the West Cape May Christmas Parade.  If you would like to join her the parade is Saturday, December, 1.  The theme this year is "Frosty Paws."  Put a colorful scarf on your dog, wear white and have on a colorful hat and scarf and you are done! The float will have a large blowup snowman on it. Quite simple this year! Let Barb know if you are interested.

Please take a look at the calendar and let me know if you can cover any of the open dates.  Sunday mornings, Sunday adoption tables and every other Saturday morning continue to need coverage.  Thank you!

Adoption and Arrivals!

Thank you all for holding down the fort while I was away. I had a very nice trip! I was so pleased to see a feeding station for outside cats at the resort I went to in Jamaica!  Here is a picture of it.  All the cats at the resort were spayed/neutered, vaccinated and ear tipped.  The cat pictured looks just like my outside cat who has lived in my yard for 14 years.  In about the last last two years he started coming inside.  I call him the guy below Jamaican Sandy! Look at the size of his ear tip!

Truffles was brought back to the Shelter shortly after she arrived at PetSmart.  Somehow she injured one of her rear legs.  She was seen by the vet who advised she has a luxating patella and may require surgery.  Poor little girl!  We are monitoring her to see if she shows improvement without surgery.  If not we will see that she gets the procedure done.

Tokyo left last night with a nice young couple.  She also gained a feline brother named Whiskey.  Her name has been changed to Cocktail. She is going to have a nice life!

The two new cats that arrived yesterday were both adopted from the Shelter a couple of years ago by a couple who also have a third cat and a dog - a Labrador.  Milo - who we originally named Skittles - came into the Shelter as a stray in November of 2014 and was adopted by this couple in February of 2015.  Phoebe came into the Shelter in February of 2015 after having just given birth to a litter of seven kittens.  She was adopted by them in February of 2016.  Well...it seems the couple parted ways.  The man in the relationship bought Milo and Phoebe back saying it was too much for just him to handle.  Both are good with other cats and got along fine with the dog.  Milo is about four years old and Phoebe is about seven years old.  Both are nice cats and will make good companions.  They were put together in the big cage.  Although it would be wonderful if they went home together it is not totally necessary.
